Woohoo! Summer's almost here!

Not that it really matters, after all we homeschool and I (Chris) will be teaching summer school. But the idea that summer is here always leaves me excited. I guess I'm brainwashed by my career of being a teacher. For me it means a new start when I can recover and re-energize for the next year. More importantly it now means that I get to spend more time with my precious family. (Of course that means more time meddlin' in my wife's affairs and driving her stir crazy as I "take charge" and put the beat down on our wayward children.)
Also, summer means (insert poud trumpet music) childrens's camp! My kids are so excited that they are wetting on themselves like little puppies. (bad children! Whack!)This means red teams and blue teams and flagtag and girls cabins and boys cabins and "COW" awards! oooh! More importantly it means the opportunity to build relationships with the children of our church and minister Christ to them. It is one of the biggest blessings of my year. (Of course it's also kind of like giving birth, painful, messy, and labor intensive but worth it after its all over.) Pray for us Akinses as we prepare for this endeavor. maybe in a few weeks w'll publish a post on camp.

A Sweet Event

I know it has been nearly a year since I posted, and you probably want an update on the family. But I just had to post pictures of a very sweet event in our lives. My sister-in-law, Ally, was baptised last Sunday. For those of you who have known her for a while, you will know what I mean when I say her salvation has been a 180 degree turn. Praise the Lord for His mercy and love.

This ia Ally sharing her testimony with our church.
